The Florida Get Off Safe Crossing Law Flyer

The Challenge

As high-speed electric bikes, scooters, e-rides, and similar mobility devices become increasingly common throughout Florida and across the United States, communities are experiencing a growing number of preventable roadway accidents involving sudden crossings, limited driver reaction time, and youth-operated mobility devices.

The 4-Step Crossing Protocol

Before crossing any roadway, individuals under 21 on mobility devices must:

⬇️
1. Slow Down

Reduce speed before reaching the crossing

🛑
2. Stop

Come to a complete halt

🚴
3. Get Off

Dismount the device entirely

🚶
4. Cross Walking

Walk across on foot, safely

THE GET OFF LAW IS SIMPLE

Slow Down · Stop
Get Off · Cross Walking

About the Initiative

This proposal is part of a broader public safety and community protection initiative developed by Simone Loureiro Martins Heloany, through a structured and scalable safety framework focused on roadway predictability, injury prevention, public awareness, and community safety integration.

This initiative is proposed as a Florida pilot public safety framework with potential future expansion for broader statewide and national roadway safety discussions involving youth-operated mobility devices.

Support safer crossings. Support safer communities. Support prevention.

GET OFF.
LOOK.
CROSS SAFE.
